Holbrook Ari-Zilla

Painted in Holbrook, Arizona. I just couldn't decide what I loved more - the giant Rock sign, or the Godzilla-like Dinosaur sitting beside it. I would love to know the story behind them, although it is just as fun to make up my own story.

My friend and I painted this scene from the air conditioning of the car. It was over 100 degrees in the shade, and there was no way we would survive on the pavement. I finished the piece this winter in the studio - it needed just a few more washes of color to brighten it up a wee bit.
