Pfeiffer Beach

Painted at Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur, California on October 4, 2024. After hours of driving and finally finding this hidden beach, my friends and I set up to paint. It was sunny and beautiful and I immediately set to work sketching in the composition.

As coastal days sometimes go (I was new to this and had no idea) - by the time I began painting, a heavy fog rolled in! At times I could not even see those fantastic rocks. But my favorite thing on the beach were the people. I loved how this couple packed in their matching lawn chairs, enjoyed just sitting and watching the ocean, and didn't seem phased that our sunny day had turned foggy. 

It was a wonderful day with many great memories. California - I can't wait to visit again.
