Oil Painting of Snow in the Sandia Mountains, New Mexico
Wendy Ahlm
We had a fresh 5" of snow last night and I ventured out to the Sandia Mountains to practice plein air painting in the winter. It was hard to leave the warm fire and blankets on the couch, but such a joy once I was out in the weather. Mid-painting little flakes of snow fell. You can't really see it falling in the film but it was fun to smash the tiny snowflakes into my color mixes.
